Gardens by the Bay is Singapore's spectacular vision of a garden of the future, a vast, futuristic nature park on reclaimed land by the Marina Bay waterfront. Its icons are the Supertrees, towering vertical gardens of steel and living plants that glow and pulse with light in a magical nightly show, linked by an aerial walkway. Alongside them, two enormous climate-controlled glass conservatories, the Flower Dome and the misty Cloud Forest with its indoor mountain and waterfall, showcase exotic plants from around the world.

What you actually see

  • The Supertrees - the towering vertical gardens and their nightly light show.
  • The Cloud Forest - the misty dome with its indoor mountain and waterfall.
  • The Flower Dome - the vast conservatory of flowers from around the world.
  • The OCBC Skyway - the aerial walkway between the Supertrees.

When to go

Year-round, as the conservatories are climate-controlled and the outdoor gardens open daily; the free Supertree light show, the Garden Rhapsody, runs nightly and is the magical highlight, so time a visit for after dark. Weekdays are quieter than the busy weekends.

Honest expectations

The outdoor gardens and the nightly Supertree light show are free, but the star conservatories and the Supertree walkway are ticketed, so a full visit adds up. It is very popular and can be crowded, especially at weekends and for the light show. Singapore is hot and humid, so the air-conditioned domes are a relief. The futuristic Supertrees and domes are genuinely spectacular.

Nearby

Marina Bay Sands, the Merlion and the Marina Bay waterfront are close.
