Nevisian Heritage Village
A reconstructed set of Nevisian buildings showing housing from slavery to the twentieth century.

The heritage village at Fothergills is a set of reconstructed buildings laid out in sequence, running from a Carib shelter through a slave hut, a chattel house, a blacksmith's shop, a rum shop and a planter's house, each furnished for its period, with staff who explain the domestic detail. It covers the housing history of the island in one walk, which the great houses on their own do not.

December to April is the main season. The village keeps set hours and closes on some days. Cruise tender days bring groups.

The buildings are reconstructions rather than original fabric. It is small and an hour or two covers it. Staffing varies and the interpretation depends heavily on who is there.
