Puppy's Point

Puppy's Point is a grassy headland on the west side with a picnic reserve on it, cliffs dropping to the water and a clear view out over the sea to the west, which makes it where people on Norfolk go in the evening. There are tables, a shelter and a track down toward the rocks. Cattle graze the reserve, as they do most open ground on the island. The road out passes through farmland and the last stretch is unsealed.

When to go

September to May is warmer. Evenings draw the crowd. Wind on the headland can be strong in any season.

Good to know

The cliff edge is unfenced and the grass runs right to it. Cattle are loose on the reserve and gates matter. It is exposed and windy much of the time.
