Bumboras is a small beach on the south coast below Rocky Point, reached by a track steep enough that it keeps most people away, with sand and rock at the bottom and a reef offshore that breaks the worst of the swell. It is the quiet alternative to Emily Bay. Norfolk pines come right down the slope behind it and there is nothing built anywhere near.

When to go
September to May is warmer and better for swimming. Swell closes it out at times. The track is slippery after rain.
Honest expectations
The track down is steep and the climb back is hard work in the heat. There are no facilities and no shade on the sand. Conditions can be dangerous when the swell is up.
