When to go

November to February, the cool dry season, is the only comfortable and practical time for the deep Sahara, avoiding the extreme heat; the winter desert is mild by day and cold at night, suited to camel or vehicle expeditions with guides. The dunes are most beautiful in the low golden light of dawn and dusk.
