Walibi Holland

Walibi Holland opened in 1971 as Flevohof, an agricultural exhibition park on the newly drained Flevoland polder, became Six Flags Holland in the 1990s and then Walibi under the Compagnie des Alpes, and it is now the country's thrill-ride park as distinct from Efteling, which trades on atmosphere and fairy tales. The coasters are the reason to go: Goliath, a mega coaster with a long first drop; Untamed, a rebuilt wooden structure with a steel track that inverts and was widely rated one of the best new coasters in Europe when it opened in 2019; Lost Gravity and several others. In autumn the park runs Halloween Fright Nights over several weeks with scare zones and haunted houses, which has become one of the largest events of its kind in Europe and which fills the park into the night. It sits on flat polder with the Veluwemeer beside it.

Honest expectations

Seasonal, closed in winter. Queues in school holidays are long. Halloween nights sell out and are not suitable for young children. It is a thrill park - Efteling is the alternative for atmosphere.
