Et Cetera was started at Crocmaz in the southeast by two brothers who had emigrated to the United States and came back to plant vines on family land, and it is deliberately small: a few dozen hectares, everything done on site, and a tasting room that takes bookings rather than coaches. The southeast, near the Dniester and close to Purcari, is the country's best regarded red wine country.
What you actually see
- The family scale - a few dozen hectares worked and vinified on site.
- The southeast terroir - the country Moldova's best regarded reds come from.
- The tasting room - a small operation taking bookings rather than groups.
- The return story - brothers who emigrated and came back to plant vines.
When to go
April to October is the pleasant season. Harvest in September is the busiest period. Visits must be booked in advance.
Honest expectations
Visits must be booked and the winery does not take walk-ins. It is a long drive from ChiČinÄu. The operation is small and there is little beyond the tasting.
Nearby
Purcari is nearby, and ChiČinÄu is northwest.
