Ta' Hagrat Temples
A small temple in Mgarr village with a well-preserved trilithon doorway, among the earliest on the islands.

Ta' Ħaġrat sits inside the village of Mġarr and consists of two structures, a larger three-apse temple of around 3600 to 3200 BC and a smaller one beside it, built of coralline limestone. The trilithon entrance to the major temple is among the best preserved on the islands, a doorway of two uprights and a lintel still standing as built. Pottery found here gave its name to the Mġarr phase of Maltese prehistory.

When to go
Year round; opening is limited and often by arrangement. Mornings are the usual slot. Skorba is nearby and the two are best combined.

It is small and a short visit. Opening is restricted and should be checked before travelling. The village setting means there is no sense of the original landscape.
