Getting thereNear Ditinn north of Dalaba; rough track then a walk
EntryVillage and guide fees

Ditinn falls comes off a sheer cliff face north of Dalaba in a single long drop of something over a hundred metres into a pool at the base, one of the tallest falls in Guinea and unusual in the Fouta Djallon for being one clean drop rather than a staircase. The cliff is a straight wall of sandstone. The walk in from where the track ends goes down through village land and gardens.

What you actually see

  • The single drop - over a hundred metres in one fall off the cliff.
  • The cliff wall - the sheer sandstone face the water comes over.
  • The base pool - the basin at the bottom of the drop.
  • The village approach - the walk down through gardens and cultivation.

When to go

July to October is the wet season and the fall runs hardest. It reduces considerably through the dry months. Tracks are worst in the rains.

Honest expectations

Access is rough track and then a walk through village land, with fees expected. Flow drops a lot by the end of the dry season. There are no facilities at the fall.

Nearby

Dalaba is south, and Ditinn village is nearby.
