The Domes of Fabedougou

A few kilometres past Karfiguela's falls, erosion has been baking: the Fabedougou domes rise from the cane plain in stacked, ringed masses of layered sandstone - brioches, the local comparison runs, and it is exact - their strata weathered into terraces that walkers mount for views over the green Comoe country. The site works as a sculpture garden: paths wander between the domes' bases, scrambles gain the rounded tops, and the late light turns the layering gold while swifts trade circuits overhead. With the falls and Tengrela's hippos, it completes Banfora's classic triple day.
