Malilangwe is a private reserve of around forty thousand hectares in the southeastern lowveld next to Gonarezhou, run by a trust that has built up substantial black and white rhino populations and reintroduced other species. The country is sandstone kopjes, mopane and baobab, and the reserve holds a large number of rock art sites, one of the denser concentrations in southern Africa. Access is through the single lodge on the property.

When to go
May to October is the dry season and best for game. Summer is extremely hot in the lowveld. Access is by booking through the lodge only.
Honest expectations
Access is restricted to guests of the single lodge, which is expensive. Day visits are not possible. Rock art sites are shown selectively and locations are not published.
