The park covers around thirty-five thousand hectares of the Skole Beskids, rounded forested ridges rising to about twelve hundred metres, cut by the Opir and Stryi rivers. Beech and fir cover most of it. The Kamianka waterfall is the best-known single feature, a set of drops on a stream near Skole, and marked trails run up to Parashka and the other summits with views along the whole Beskid line.

When to go
May to October is the walking season, with autumn colour in the beech forest the best of the year. Snow lies on the ridges from December to April. Trails are muddy after rain.
Honest expectations
The waterfall is small and busy at weekends. Trail marking is inconsistent in places. Facilities inside the park are minimal and Skole is the base for everything.
