Flumserberg

Flumserberg is a series of terraces on the southern side of the Walensee at between twelve hundred and fourteen hundred metres, facing north across the water to the wall of the Churfirsten - which is the view that defines it, since the seven peaks stand directly opposite with the lake between. It is a family ski area in winter and a walking and cycling area in summer. Its best-known summer feature is the Floomzer, a long rail toboggan run on which riders control their own brake. In winter the area runs 17 lifts and some 65 kilometres of pistes. Cable cars link the terraces to the lake shore.

Before you go

It is a family resort and busy at weekends and in holidays. The toboggan closes in rain and queues in summer. Lifts shut between seasons. The terraces are developed with apartments rather than a village.
