The road from Rattota climbs onto the northern shoulder of the Knuckles at Riverston and runs along the crest at around eleven hundred metres, with the ground dropping away on both sides and wind that is constant and strong. Mini World's End, a sheer drop of several hundred metres, is a short walk from the road, and the Thelgamu Oya waterfall is nearby. When the cloud lifts the view runs out over the dry-zone plain.

When to go
January to April is the driest and clearest. Cloud covers the ridge much of the time in any season. The road is a long climb from Matale.
Honest expectations
Cloud hides the view on most days and there is no way to predict it. There are no barriers at the escarpment edge. The road is narrow with heavy wind.
