- Dress modestly - shoulders and knees, stricter than Dubai in public spaces
- Visit Souq Waqif at dusk - falcons, oud smoke and the city's living room
- Accept Arabic coffee with your right hand
- Take the metro - new, driverless and gleaming
✗ Better avoided
- Drink alcohol outside licensed hotel venues
- Photograph locals, especially women, without asking
- Show public affection
- Import anything alcoholic or restricted - airport scans are thorough

- Tipping 10% is appreciated if no service charge
