Blo Degbo is a large granite outcrop in Bong County rising out of the forest and farmland, a landmark visible from a distance with a set of stories attached to it locally about who lives in it and what happens there. It can be climbed on the sloping side for a view over the interior. The rock is bare granite with vegetation only in the cracks. Outcrops of this kind occur across the Liberian interior where the granite basement breaks through the forest soil.

When to go
November to April is the dry season and the rock is safest. The rains make the granite dangerous. Mornings are cooler for the climb.
Honest expectations
The rock is slippery when wet and there is no fixed protection. Village permission and a guide are expected. There are no facilities.
