Elduvík stands where a stream reaches the sea on the eastern side of Funningsfjørður, and it is genuinely tiny: the population has been in the low double figures for years, and the village is split into two halves either side of the water, joined by a footbridge. Turf-roofed houses, a small church and a stone-walled infield make up the whole of it. A walking route climbs from the village towards Funningur.

When to go
May to September is the season. The narrow road in is difficult in winter. Fog is frequent on this coast.
Honest expectations
There are no facilities of any kind: no shop, no cafe, no fuel. The road in is single track with passing places. Residents live here and the village is not an attraction.
