Zarecki Krov

The Pazincica drops here over a limestone ledge that overhangs the pool below, so the water falls clear of the rock and there is a walkable space behind the curtain - the name means the roof at Zarecje. The pool beneath is deep and green and is swum in through the summer, which is the main reason people come down. Flow varies a great deal: after rain it is a proper fall, and in a dry August it thins to a trickle, so a visit late in a hot summer can be disappointing. The path down from the parking spot is short, steep and slippery in wet weather.

Honest expectations

The path down is steep and slippery, and the rocks around the pool are worse. Water quality after heavy rain is not always good, given what the river drains. There are no facilities and parking is a roadside pull-off.
